Hike to the Kilasia waterfall near the Kilimanjaro Marangu route gate with a photo opportunity at the gate. Explore the beautiful, garden style scenery of the waterfall supplied by spring water stream from the Kilimanjaro.
Hike down to the massive Ndoro waterfall or to the waterfalls with a local guide. Along the way, your guide will tell you about local plants.
Visit the Chagga history and caves site to learn about the past and present of the Chagga people, and their way of roasting coffee. Depending on the weekday, you may also enjoy a walk through Marangu village center, visit one of several local markets, and the blacksmith’s shop.

8:00am - Pickup from your hotel and transport to Marangu in a private car.
9:30am – Arrive at the Kilimanjaro gate in Marangu. Opportunity to buy refreshments or shop at the entry game shops and take photos at the Marangu route gate. (Some shops accept credit cards.)
10:00am – Start your walk to the charming Kilasia waterfall. Along the way, your guide will tell you about local plants and culture. This hike is short and lighter in intensity with a short descent along a sloping hill. You can also choose to view the fall from the ledge above, if you prefer not to walk up and down hills.
11:00am – Your driver will pick you up at the Marangu gate and transport you to the Ndoro Falls.
11:30am – Start your hike down to the Ndoro water fall down sleep stairs and a winding path through the rainforest. This hike is of moderate to high intensity depending on weather conditions, but your guide will have a hiking stick ready for you and they will adjust speed to accommodating your hiking pace. However, this hike is not appropriate for people with severe knee, hip, or back problems or anyone with balance or mobility problems.
1:00pm – Local lunch or Lunchbox at the Chagga museum. For additional refreshments or shopping, credit cards are accepted at the museum gift shop.
2:00pm - Chagga Village Museum and Coffee Tour. Explore past traditional huts and underground cave dwellings of the Chagga tribe. Learn about the history of the Chagga people and learn the traditional method of coffee making. Come ready to sing and pound your beans, as you make your own cup of coffee with the Chagga. The Chagga Village Museum store does accept credit cards.
4:30pm – head back to Moshi
6:00pm - Drop-off at your hotel.
